The KTBYTE team developed the KTCoder™ with our students in mind! Most coding classes require software downloads, which is difficult and a hassle for young students. Our platform supports Processing (Java), Python, C++, KTBlocks, HTML/CSS, and a bunch of libraries (like Soundcipher and Fisica!). This revolutionary all-in-one coding platform supports our interactive online classes, our specialized curriculum, and (most importantly) our student's passion for learning.

We provide pre-recorded Audio Lectures to allow for students to self-study, practice, and learn CS.

We provide recordings of our classes for if a student misses or needs to re-listen to a class.

Class Description:

This week-long course is suitable for students ages 10+ with fair typing proficiency (10-20 WPM) and are comfortable with trial-and-error experimentation. This course will be taught using KTBlocks, our block-based coding platform tailor-made for easy transition into typed Java, Python or C++ programming. Students with prior exposure to other block-based platforms (code.org, Scratch, Tynker) will find this course useful for transitioning to "typed-out" programming languages. Essential math and computing concepts (coordinates, state variables, conditionals, loops) will be taught, Students will learn to create various fun and interactive graphical projects. By the end of this course, students will create their own project / game with basic logic and game states.

Prerequisites:

10+ WPM typing speed and 5th grade math proficiency, or permission or instructor

Hidden Sprites made with KTBlocks: The orbs are made into lists, and it appears and disappears based on its' distance from the mouse and the pink 'flashlight'.

Creeper Game created in KTBlocks The creeper graphic scales when you move the mouse and flashes red when it gets too big.

Cookie Clicker made with KTBlocks: The cookie is a button that creates an increase in numerical value when it is clicked.

Button made with KTBlocks: This is a true button, that detects whether a certain area is being clicked.
